Prayer & Fasting (January 6th–12th, 2025): “Great Joy in the City”
Theme Text: Acts 8:8 – “Great Joy in the City”
Join us as we dedicate the first week of the year to seeking God in prayer and fasting, focusing on joy in every aspect of our lives and communities. Below are the daily scriptures, prayer points, and hymns to guide this spiritual journey.
Day 1 (Monday, January 6th – Online Prayer Time: 6-7 am)
- Scripture: Psalm 136:1-26
- Focus: “We give you thanks, Lord. We bless you for all you have done for us last year and in the past years. We are grateful, O Lord, because you are a faithful God. We receive your joy that is our strength in this new year and beyond as we wait on you in prayer and fasting.”
- Hymn: “O Lord Our God in Ages Past, Our Hope for Years to Come.”
Day 2 (Tuesday, January 7th – Online Prayer Time: 6-7 am)
- Scripture: Psalm 16:1-11
- Focus: “Joy in our entire lives. Holy Spirit, baptize us with the oil of joy and gladness. Let our countenance continue to radiate with unspeakable joy throughout the new year and beyond. Make our prayers radiant with the energy of your faith, love, hope, and power in Jesus’ powerful name.”
- Hymn: “Now Thank We All Our God, with Heart and Hands and Voices.”
Day 3 (Wednesday, January 8th – Online Prayer Time: 6-7 am)
- Scripture: Nehemiah 8:10
- Focus: “Joy in our nation, city, community, and in the 7 spheres of influence—Religion, Politics, Education, Health, Family, Finance, Art, Culture, Entertainment, Sports, and Media. We ask for the fire of revival. The land to give up the people to serve the living God. At the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee to bow and every tongue to confess, ‘Jesus is Lord’.”
- Hymn: “Lord, the Light of Your Love is Shining in the Midst of the Darkness Shining.”
Day 4 (Thursday, January 9th – Online Prayer Time: 6-7 am)
- Scripture: Isaiah 61:7
- Focus: “Joy in our places of work, businesses, and in the schools of our children. Provide jobs for brethren looking for work. Come through for people having challenges in their places of work. We receive your divine curriculum for our children in their schools.”
- Hymn: “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee, God of Glory, Lord of Love.”
Day 5 (Friday, January 10th – Combined Service Time: 7-9 pm @ Central Campus)
- Scripture: Ezekiel 34:26
- Focus: “Joy in our weekly activities, outreaches, and cell churches. Fresh anointing on the ministers and unit leaders. More souls to be won into His Kingdom. We decree and declare your presence among us. We also decree and declare songs and shouts of joy to fill our mouths, homes, and lives throughout this new year and beyond. There shall be showers of blessings; this is the promise of God.”

Day 6 (Saturday, January 11th – Combined Service Time 11am – 6pm @ Central Campus)
- Scripture: Nehemiah 12:43
- Focus: Joy in mission fields and among missionaries.
- Prayer Point: “Lord, strengthen our brethren in Botswana, Uganda, Pakistan, and other nations. Grant them courage and resurrection power in Jesus’ name. Let joy and rejoicing be their portion as you meet their needs.”
- Hymn: “Take My Life and Let It Be, Consecrated Lord to Thee.”
Day 7 (Sunday, January 12th – Celebration Service – All Campus Locations)
- Scripture: Psalm 34:1-10
- Focus: Joy, gladness, and thanksgiving throughout the year.
- Prayer Point: “We praise you for the special joy you’ve given us this year. May joy, thanksgiving, and songs of praise never cease in our lives. Let those around us experience the true joy of God through us.”
- Hymn: “My Faith Has Found a Resting Place, Not in Device Nor Creed.”
